Description
The DFC Street Series Long Block Engine caters to diesel enthusiasts seeking to replace their Duramax with one of the industry’s premier remanufactured engines. DFC implements essential enhancements throughout the remanufacturing process to ensure reliability, even in high-performance applications. Addressing known weaknesses in the factory Duramax, DFC incorporates upgrades like an EDM oil pump shaft with a hardened dowel and a Woodruff Keyed camshaft to prevent slipping and mitigate the risk of oil pressure loss. Utilizing Rottler machining equipment, DFC achieves tighter and more precise tolerances than OEM specifications. Prior to the build process, DFC meticulously evaluates each core, selecting only the finest ones and rejecting any components requiring extensive restoration to maintain the highest standards possible.
Engine Remanufacturing
The DFC short block is machined with near identical weight piston and connecting rod assemblies to help you get a smoother running engine that makes less noise and is more balanced. DFC short blocks include reinforced internals with new pistons, rings, doweled oil pump, bearings, and rods.
Cylinder Head
Unlike some other remanufacturing comapnies in the industry that re-use wearing items like valves and valves guides, DFC replaces each guide with a new cast guide and installs all new valves from high quality sources like MAHLE or SBI in every cylinder head. To address common cracking areas in the cylinder head, DFC machines each head to remove the factory hardened seat material. DFC then installs new SBI valve seats to help eliminate premature cracking, giving you a more durable cylinder head.

Street Series 6.6L Long Block Includes:
Complete short block with the front cover and seal, rear cover with main seal, oil pan, all new internal components, cylinder heads with all rockers and pushrods installed, doweled oil pump gear, woodruff keyed cam shaft and complete gasket kit for installation.

New Engine Checklist (Replacement Items – Sold Separately):
Oil Cooler – highly recommended and mandatory if your past engine had a bearing failure.
Injectors – highly recommended especially on higher model engines or engines with contaminated fuel.
Turbocharger – recommended if mileage over 125K, mandatory if shaft play, or if engine was dusted.
Water Pump – highly recommended if engine has over 125K.
Evans Waterless Coolant – recommended upgrade to prevent corrosion and boilover.
Application Note:
The specific brand of each component may change due to part availability at the time of each build. Parts are chosen at the discretion of DFC and cannot be specially requested. DFC uses only the best components sourced from multiple brands during the remanufacturing process and backs their engines with an industry-leading 5-year 100,000 mile warranty.
Notes:
A $500 Crate charge is included in core charge total. Engine shipping crate must be returned with core engine to receive full core credit.
