The Hamilton Cams 07-CC-24V178 Towing 178/208 Camshaft Combo is designed for daily drivers or towing rigs seeking improved efficiency in their Dodge/RAM Cummins. Featuring a short duration and wide lobe separation angle, this camshaft minimizes overlap, distinguishing it from other Hamilton camshafts. Ideal for those living in higher elevations, frequently hauling heavy loads, or seeking enhanced daily driving efficiency.

While excelling in efficiency, this camshaft is also favored among common rail engines equipped with larger single turbochargers or boasting larger valves and ports. Larger turbos and cylinder heads with expansive ports and valves often exhibit reduced low rpm response, making this camshaft particularly effective in spooling larger turbochargers earlier.

Although deemed a drop-in replacement, it’s crucial to verify clearances. For 1998.5-2002 models, ensure no more than .025″ piston protrusion and at least .038″ valve face depth with a standard gasket. For 2003-2007 and 2013-2018 engines, .018″ piston protrusion and at least .038″ valve face depth with a standard gasket are necessary. If these minimum clearance requirements aren’t met, oversize head gaskets or valve relief cuts can be considered.

This combo kit contains all the necessary components for camshaft installation and valvetrain upgrade. Zinc additive required (not included).
