This camshaft is considered a drop-in replacement, it is important to check clearances.  The 1989-1998 Cummins 12v will need no more than .025” piston protrusion and at least .055” valve face depth with a standard head gasket.  In the 1998.5-2002 Cummins applications, you will need no more than .025” piston protrusion and a minimum of .038” valve face depth with a standard gasket.  The 2003-2018 Cummins engines will need .018” piston protrusion and a minimum of .038” valve face depth with a standard head gasket.  If you do not meet the requirements for piston valve clearance, you can still run an oversized head gasket or cut off valve reliefs.
