This allowed for improved performance across a wider range of engine speeds.

However, the design faced significant challenges, particularly with the vanes becoming stuck due to soot buildup. While OEM improvements over the years have enhanced the reliability and lifespan of these turbos, many truck owners still have the original models, which are now out of warranty.
