A harmonic balancer (also known as a crankshaft vibration damper) serves more than just the function of spinning the pulleys on an engine. It is designed to help eliminate engine harmonics, reducing vibrations that might otherwise transfer into the cab of your truck.

Composed of three primary components – the hub, the rubber damper, and the outer ring, the balancer is carefully calibrated through factors such as sizing and balance to help dampen engine power pulses and provide smooth engine operation.
